Unlock the Power of Integrated Therapeutic Practices

Upcoming Training: Starts Thursday 9th May 2024

Discover a New Dimension in Therapy

Our 12-week comprehensive program delves deep into the principles and practice of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Embodiment. This unique training is designed for therapists, counsellors, yoga teachers, health coaches and individuals who wish to:

  • Enhance their skills with cutting-edge methodologies.
  • Integrate IFS and Somatic Embodiment into their daily practice for more effective outcomes.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of their internal system and how to apply these insights professionally.

What Makes Our Program Stand Out?

  • Expert-Led Sessions: Learn from a renowned therapist in the field of IFS, trauma, and somatic embodiment.
  • Hands-On Learning: Engage in practical exercises that translate theory into real-world application.
  • Supportive Community: Join a network of professionals committed to personal and professional growth.

A Quote to Reflect On: “IFS can be seen as attachment theory taken inside, in the sense that the client’s Self becomes the good attachment figure to their insecure or avoidant parts.” - Richard Schwartz.

This profound insight by Richard Schwartz forms the cornerstone of our training, emphasising the transformative power of a nurturing internal system in therapeutic practice.

Embodied Practice

At Concinnity, we transcend traditional healing paradigms, embracing a holistic approach that integrates the mind, body, and spirit. We focus on understanding pain and actively fostering healing through the embodied Self. We believe healing is a relational journey – connecting with oneself, the community, and the broader universe. IFS and SE training is an invitation for clinicians, therapists, and mental health professionals who aspire to blend science with spirituality, seeking harmony between expanded consciousness and everyday reality. We understand that true psychology must encompass spirituality to heal the soul deeply.

― Bessel A. van der Kolk

IFS is a way of empowering ourselves to be our own healer, and to trust our own inner wisdom.” – Richard Schwartz.

Weekly Structure

WEEK ONE MODULE ONE - 4 Hours

Teaching,  Demonstrations and Group Experiential

We will greet each other during our initial meeting and establish group guidelines. We will provide an overview of the integrated model, including the types of parts we typically encounter in sessions and how parts appear in the body. We will also introduce the concept of self and self-energy to work with and heal the system.

During the 12 weeks, we will cover the following topics - Working with Protectors, The Autonomic Nervous System, Somatic Profiling and Encoding.

Throughout the training, we will emphasise speaking for your parts rather than speaking from them.

To illustrate the concepts over the 12 weeks, we will ask a volunteer to participate in a demonstration as you become more familiar with the IFS Model.

Following the demonstration, we will provide time for questions and answers. You can work on your system during the demonstrations and notice what is happening in your mind and body, as an IFS guide must understand their system beyond role-playing.

Please note that these sessions will be recorded and made available for future review at your convenience. The session recording will only be provided to those who attended it to ensure confidentiality and safety.

MODULES TWO, THREE AND FOUR -  WEEK ONE, TWO and THREE  - 4 Hours

Practice And Consultation

During Weeks 1, 2 and 3, a skilled IFS Therapist will be present to assist you in mastering the integrative model and working with the parts of yourself that emerge. You will assume the roles of practitioner, client, mapper, and observer.

Additionally, there will be a consultation when the entire group convenes to address any questions arising from practice or theory. This is a chance to explore challenges and better understand your system of parts.

Please note these sessions will be recorded for future review but only made available to attendees, maintaining confidentiality and safety.
